~ SICK ~

What a week I've had! I started having a cough at the beginning of this past week and it hasn't gone away. UGH! I went to the doctor yesterday and I have bronchitis. The doctor gave me some medicine, so hopefully I will feel better soon, and stop this coughing!

Hope everyone is well and having a good weekend!!!

~ School Subjects this Year ~

This year in school I will be in the eighth grade. I have never gone to public school, because I have always been homeschooled. I know a lot of people go to public school, but I don't think I would like it very much. I enjoy doing school at home very much!

This year we are going to be using SONLIGHT! I am so excited! It will be a lot of reading, but I love to read, and history is one of my favorite subjects!

My subjects this year will be:

Math (which isn't my favorite subject)

World History (+ Geography)

Language Arts

Science

Computer Skills

Bible

Art

Piano

Although I'm looking forward to some subjects more than others, the books from  Sonlight  sound really interesting, and I can't wait to start reading them. I'm looking forward to this new school year!

~ My Birthday ~

As I said yesterday, Saturday was my birthday...

And I turned 13!

First, I wanted to go shopping with my birthday money--and since Kohls is my favorite store, I went there. I especially like looking at the clearance racks and I found a lot of

great stuff!

Then we went out to eat at Checkers. That is a hamburger place for those of you who might not know. I LOVE their

seasoned fries! :)

This year my theme was "High School Musical" and I had plates and napkins to go along with it. My mom and my brother had decorated the diningroom with streamers and balloons for me the day before. It looked really pretty!

So...later in the evening, I blew out my birthday candles and

made a wish! (Sorry--I can't tell you what it was! ;)

Then we ate cake and ice cream and watched the first "High School Musical" movie. It's one of my favorite movies....but, actually I like all three!

I had a really great day and it was fun turning 13!

Until later.....

This Past Weekend...and School is Almost OVER!

This past weekend we had a cook out in our backyard. We had hotdogs, pasta salad, cheese and crackers, and later that evening we had sliced cantaloupe. YUM!

Then sometime after we got done eating we played UNO until it started to rain. I love playing that game!

Hey look! I can see my daddy's cards!

AND

I am so excited!!!!

Tomorrow will be the last day of school for this year!!!

YAY!

*~ My Trip to Memaws *~

Saturday we went to my memaw's house and these are some pictures we took.

This is Memaw's cat. He is really sweet, cute, and loving. He really likes people, but doesn't like other animals. He wants all the attention for himself!

Look at those pretty green eyes and long whiskers! Y

Doesn't he look like a good mouser? Y
This is a squirrel that kept coming up to Memaw's patio door and looking in. He wanted some peanuts to eat.

She has about seven squirrels that come to visit her everyday. I love watching them out the door.

Memaw gave me some peanuts to give them...but this one was a little shy.

I had a really good time at Memaw's house!

Things I Noticed...

Do you ever stop to notice the things around you? Just in a minutes time, while taking my dog outside a little while ago, I noticed the following things:

  • I saw an ant on my foot and I shook it off.
  • I saw a discusting black spider. !
  • I saw pretty flowers.
  • I saw a little baby boy in his diapers.
  • I saw a squirrel eating out of the bird feeder.
  • I saw green grass and green leaves.
  • I saw my neighbor raking his yard. B
  • I saw a blue sky and white fluffy clouds.
  • I heard birds singing. O
  • I heard people talking, but I didn't see them.
  • I felt the hot sun on my skin.
  • I felt the porch under my feet. H
  • I felt the wind blowing my hair.

And then I came in.

I LOVE SCOOBY DOO!!!!

Every evening I like to watch Scooby Doo on tv when I can. I like it because they solve mysteries. The ghosts are supposed to be scary, but I don't think they are. They're always running away from the ghosts, but they know it's probably a person dressed up. Velma always says there's no such thing as ghosts, but they all get scared anyway, including her.

My favorite characters are Scooby Doo (of course) and Shaggy. I think it's funny when they get scared. Shaggy's hair goes straight up!

I hope I get to watch it tonight, but we're going to our library's used book sale. I'm so excited!!! They have used movies, too, for 50 cents a piece. Last year we bought about twelve! They were really good! I hope I find some books I like also. I try to find all the Nancy Drew ones they have. They are only 50 cents a piece, too. Well, my Mom is busily painting the livingroom walls. I'm going to help her when I get done with all my schoolwork.

Until later...

Come on SPRING!

It snowed yesterday morning. It took my Daddy two hours to get work because the roads were slick! But, he got there safely. There was more snow where he works than there was here. We didn’t get much here, and it’s all melted now. I’m looking forward to spring! I hope it gets here fast.

To me a perfect spring day is when it’s sunny outside, birds are singing, and it’s warm out. Tulips and daffodils are blooming. Spring days are sometimes really beautiful. Other days it rains…but that’s o.k. since it helps the flowers to grow.

Come on spring!!!!

My Weekend

Yesterday I helped my Dad take Christmas decorations down outside. Then that evening my family and I watched "I Love Lucy" reruns. That's one of my favorite tv shows.
Today my family and I went to church and then afterwards, we went to Walmart. Now we are getting ready to eat hotdogs and chips. Later on we might watch more "I Love Lucy".
