~ TOO MUCH ENGLISH! ~

You know you've been doing English too long when you are reading a book or writing a paper, and you have the sudden URGE to underline all the subjects once, the verbs twice, and cross out all the prepositional phrases!!  For each sentence in the book! LOL :)

Eventually I am going to learn how to make invitations and greeting cards and other things like that. I think calligraphy is so beautiful.

~ School Subjects this Year ~

This year in school I will be in the eighth grade. I have never gone to public school, because I have always been homeschooled. I know a lot of people go to public school, but I don't think I would like it very much. I enjoy doing school at home very much!

This year we are going to be using SONLIGHT! I am so excited! It will be a lot of reading, but I love to read, and history is one of my favorite subjects!

My subjects this year will be:

Math (which isn't my favorite subject)

World History (+ Geography)

Language Arts

Science

Computer Skills

Bible

Art

Piano

Although I'm looking forward to some subjects more than others, the books from  Sonlight  sound really interesting, and I can't wait to start reading them. I'm looking forward to this new school year!

This Past Weekend...and School is Almost OVER!

This past weekend we had a cook out in our backyard. We had hotdogs, pasta salad, cheese and crackers, and later that evening we had sliced cantaloupe. YUM!

Then sometime after we got done eating we played UNO until it started to rain. I love playing that game!

Hey look! I can see my daddy's cards!

AND

I am so excited!!!!

Tomorrow will be the last day of school for this year!!!

YAY!

~ Some Drawings I Did ~

This year I'm doing art from the book Draw Squad. I like it, but sometimes the lessons are kinda hard. The author is really funny and draws CrAzY pictures. He's NuTs! But, I guess that's what makes it so fun. Here's some of the pictures I've drawn so far this year.

You can't see it too good, but this is a birdhouse...

and this an ax in a tree stump...

I'm having fun doing art this year!

His Way is Perfect!

My memory verse this week is:

Psalm 18:30

As for GOD, His way is perfect; The word of the LORD is proven;
He is a shield to all who trust in Him.

My memory verse and timeline

This is my memory verse I'm learning for school:

For you are my lamp, O Lord;
The Lord shall enlighten my darkness.
For by you I can run against a troop:
By my God I can leap over a wall.
2 Samuel 22:29-30

These are a few pages out of my history timeline. The ones showing are the ones from Bible times...

Today I got caught up with putting in pictures in the order they should go.

The timeline goes from the beginning of time to now. I also added Thomas Edison to his page today. I just finished reading about him. Now I'm starting to read about Henry Ford.

In Bible I just finished reading about Naomi, Ruth, and Boaz.

I like keeping a timeline. I like looking back through it to see who I've learned about, and seeing where they fit in time.
