~ Christmas is Coming ~

"Christmas is Coming" by: Garnett Ann Schultz

~*~*~*~*~

Hustle and Bustle, Hurry and Haste,
Never a moment that we might waste;
Shopping and wrapping, ribbons and bows,
Christmas is coming as everyone knows.

Trimmings and candles, wreath on the door,
Secrets and laughter, gladness galore,
Starlight and carols, bells ringing clear,
No other reason: Christmas is near.

Jolly Old Santa, reindeer and elves,
Presents all hidden away on the shelves,
Cards to be written, mailing to do,
Much in excitement, worries so few.

Love more abundant, peace in our heart,
Giving, remembering, smiles to impart,
Cookies and fruitcake, the fragance of pine,
Christmas is coming to your home and mine.

~ Christmas Poems ~

Born Anew
by Robert Louis Stevenson

~*~*~

The legend tells that when Jesus was born

the sun danced in the sky, the aged trees

straightened themselves and put on leaves

and sent forth the fragrance of blossoms.

These are the symbols of what takes place

in our hearts when the Christ Child is born

anew in each of us.

Christmas Prayer
by Robert Louis Stevenson

~*~*~

O God, our loving Father,

help us rightly to remember the birth of Jesus,

that we may share in the song of the angels,

the gladness of the shepherds,

and the worship of the wise men...

May the Christmas morning make us happy

to be thy children

and the Christmas evening bring us to our beds

with grateful thoughts,

forgiving and forgiven, for Jesus' sake,

Amen

Outdoor Wednesday

Last week Susan said that we could share our Christmas decorations, both outdoors and indoors, so I thought I would share some of ours...

This little Christmas tree is really pretty lit up at night with a tealight...

Mr. and Mrs. Snowman roasting marshmallows over an open flame...

another Frosty outside in the snow...

and the table setting and decorations at our church's Christmas banquet. The candle is surrounded by real greenery...

Thank you for visiting me today.
MERRY CHRISTMAS!

~MY DAYBOOK~

For Today… Monday, December 7, 2009

Outside my window... it is sunny and cold with snow lying on the ground.

I am thinking... I don't know what I'm thinking ;) Not a morning person here.

I am wearing... my new teal striped top, jeans, and socks.

I am remembering... our church Christmas dinner we had last night, and the snow covered trees on our way there. It was so beautiful and Christmasy.

I am going... no where tonight…unless it’s to the library.

I am reading... for school I am reading: "In Search of Honor."It’s a pretty good book. Not boring, atleast.

I am hoping... that it snows again for Christmas!

On my mind... that there are only 18 more days until Christmas!

From the learning rooms… Bible, math, English, spelling, reading, art, history, etc.

Noticing that... our neighbors are decorating for Christmas across the road. It looks so pretty!

Pondering these words... For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the goverment will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. ISAIAH 9:6

From the kitchen… for supper: Cheeseburger skillet and applesauce.

Around the house... pretty red poinsettias, snowmen, and glowing Christmas lights.

One of my favorite things: snow

A few plans for the rest of the week: haircuts on Tuesday, groceries on Thursday, friends coming to visit on Saturday, church on Sunday.

From my picture journal...

THANK YOU, GOD

Thank you, God,
for sending Jesus down to earth.
So he could tell us all about you
and show us how to live.

For God so loved the world
that He gave His one and only son.
